How to Use Technical Analysis to Generate Better Investment Results

David Cox (www.davidcox.ca) is a Portfolio Manager at CIBC Wood Gundy in Guelph, ON.  He is one of approximately 206 dual holders, globally, of both the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Market Technician (CMT) designations.  His family recently relocated from British Columbia and he has three young boys…

He runs a quantitatively screened, yet technically driven discretionary investment practice and uses two main approaches: trend trading and swing trading.  David plans to share his perspective and offer insights into how he makes practical use of technical analysis in the management of millions of dollars of client and personal capital.

He will cover:

- Trends (How to Find a Trend and How to Know It’s Over)

- Entries (How to Create Low Risk Entries and Identify Good Probability Setups)

- Exits (When is it Time To Sell?  Protecting Profits and Minimizing Losses)

- How to Spot Tops and Bottoms

- Risk and Reward (How to Find/Determine Good Investment Opportunities)

* There will be lots of time for Q&A.
