Topic: Risk and Probability - Why You Don’t Need a 2:1 Reward to Risk Ratio to Make the Big Money in the Markets

In this presentation, you will learn what it takes to make above average returns in the markets. You will uncover answers to four questions which will help you navigate the markets. Once these are identified, topics to be covered include a review of one of Mark’s trading methods, the probability of achieving a winning trade and how you can influence the probability. A comparison between the Reward to Risk ratio and percentage gain will follow. After defining what constitutes a win, you will learn what it takes to become a champion trader, one capable of making “the big money”. To solidly how to produce market beating returns, there will be an introduction to a Monte Carlo simulator. This will be followed by a live Monte Carlo demonstration which will introduce you to the variability of the markets and show you how minor changes can have dramatic effects on your trading results. Grasping this understanding is a key to sharpening your skills as a trader. The presentation will end with a scan of the markets using the StockCharts code presented in Mark’s book “Dating the Stock Market” and identifying potential trades.

Mark Kelly is the author of the book “Dating the Stock Market – 10 Key Mindsets You Need to Excel as a Trader”. Mark trades part time for fun and profits. Mark’s trading went sideways for years until he understood the basic concepts of what it takes to become a consistently successful trader. Once these were understood, trading has become more enjoyable and rewarding
