Speaker: Roman Bogomazov and Bruce Fraser on Wyckoff Method
Topic:
INTRODUCTION TO THE WYCKOFF METHOD OF TRADING AND INVESTING
Richard D. Wyckoff, one of the founding “titans” of technical analysis, developed a method in the early 20th century to anticipate future market direction by analyzing only price, volume and time. Many successful professional and institutional traders still rely on his principles of judging the market by its own action; Wyckoff’s approach is as valid today as when it was first articulated and continues to work well for any freely traded financial instrument in any time frame.
In this presentation, Mr. Roman Bogomazov, an internationally recognized expert in teaching the Wyckoff Method, will review the key analytical building blocks of this approach to the markets:
Wyckoff Structural Price Analysis: foundations of market structure and how to identify the Change of Character that often heralds the start of a new trading environment;
Supply and Demand Analysis: known also as Volume Price Analysis or VPA, which involves gauging institutional market operations through a detailed analysis of volume, spread and price;
Relative and Comparative Strength Analysis: a tool to spot potential outperformers in advance by their price action in relation to that of the overall market;
After this overview, Mr. Bogomazov will provide a more in-depth description of Wyckoff Structural Price Analysis, starting with identifying a Change of Character, and then discussing how analysis of trading ranges can help predict price direction into a new or continuing trend and when price is poised to accelerate higher (or lower). In particular, he will illustrate how a Wyckoff technician recognizes:
Accumulation versus Distribution trading ranges
Phases and specific Wyckoff events within trading ranges
Novice and experienced traders alike will learn from this presentation how Wyckoff-style analysis tracks market activities of large institutions and professional operators, thereby helping uncover high-probability opportunities for retail traders.
