Speaker:  Colin Cieszynski - 

Colin Cieszynski, CFA, CMT, Chief Market Strategist with CMC Markets, is one of the world’s leading professional market analysts with over twenty years of experience and a global following of his market insights located in over 80 countries on six continents. 

Colin tracks economic and market trends for Global indices, North American stocks, commodities and currencies utilizing both fundamental and technical analysis techniques. 

Colin is frequently quoted in the business press around the world. He contributes daily to the Globe and Mail’s Before the Bell online market commentary. He appears weekly on ABC News Radio across Australia and JAZZ-FM in the UK and regularly on BNN, CBC Radio and 680 News in Canada. Colin also is the current head of the Toronto Chapter of the Canadian Society of Technical Analysts.   

Topic: Seasonal trading and Quantitative analysis - 

Seasonal swings can be seen in many markets around the world, particularly stocks and commodities in relation to changes in supply and demand throughout the year. In this presentation, Colin will survey the impact seasonality has on different markets (and which markets seasonal traders can avoid). He will discuss the impact of seasonality on different trading strategies including buy and hold, sell in May and go away, stop and reverse and pairs trading. 

In addition, Colin will also discuss the results of some of his research into how outside events and stock markets interrelate with each other including the US Presidential election race, El Niño and the Super Bowl.
