John & Brian will be with us in Victoria to show how they have integrated reversion to the mean in their work as a local fund.  They have had great success and we look forward to them sharing their perspective.

John Di Tomasso - President, Portfolio Manager


John is the founder, President and Portfolio Manager of Di Tomasso Group.  He is ultimately responsible for the firm’s investment decisions.  John has managed and advised commodity pools and accounts since 1991.  Prior to founding Di Tomasso Group in 1994, John was responsible for managing over $400 million of equity investments at the Royal Insurance Company of Canada in Toronto.  He has always been a disciple of Benjamin Graham and Warren Buffett's long-term, value approach to investing.

A philosophy graduate of the University of Guelph, John lectured for several years on value investing at York University and the University of Victoria.  He is married and has four fine children.


Brian Di Tomasso - Vice President, Portfolio Manager


Brian is Di Tomasso Group’s Vice President, Portfolio Manager and IT Manager.  He joined Di Tomasso Group in August 2005 having worked part-time with the firm since 2000 while studying Computer Systems Technology at Camosun College and the University of Victoria.  Brian’s duties include trade execution, financial reporting, research, and attending to various management matters while developing proprietary software used to enhance investment decision making.

Working alongside John Di Tomasso, Brian has learned all aspects of the firm’s investment style, philosophy, risk controls and trading methodology.
