Several risk measures, like beta, are oversimplifications of risk and rely on high correlations to often uncorrelated markets. This presentation will be light on the conceptual and heavy on actual trading methods. Topics to be covered: Risk cycles, time frames, end point bias, calculation methods, risk based trading. Speaker: Jeff Parent, B. Eng, CIM, FCSI - Vice President, Portfolio Manager, Matco FInancial Inc. Jeff is a former president of the CSTA Presentation #2: "Air Pockets or Price Out Volatility" Speaker: Harold AGJ Davis, FCSI - Harold is the author of Prairie Crop Charts where he analyzes cash price movements in grains, oil seeds and special crops. Harold is an active member of the Winnipeg chapter of the CSTA Time Permitting: We will have a discussion on our special event , Saturday, May 2, 2015 and our first "Study Session" that will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 where the subject will be developing scans. **Please note that the "Study Session" will be held on Tuesday rather than our regular Wednesday evening due to a scheduling conflict at the library.
